Kym's Korner![]() |

3/16/2008 Business has been great! Lots of boats to clean. Its starting to warm up and we’re already noticing a difference in the growth on our boats. The water has warmed up to 60 degrees and I have moved out of my drysuit into a 7mm wetsuit. I was a little nervous about this but SeaJay talked me into it, he has been diving a 7mm all winter, and he was right. I was very comfortable in it and it actually felt good to dive wet again. I still haven’t seen any little fish around the docks yet, I look forward to seeing them so I can put a few in my fish tank and watch them grow. Went offshore fishing at the Betsy Ross with Captain Wally Thursday and caught a beautiful red drum. He was huge! We released him successfully so someone else can enjoy catching him. We also caught lots of black sea bass. We saw what we thought was a school of little tuny churning up the water so decided to go over and check it out. It turned out to be something I have never seen before except on T.V. It was a huge pod of dolphin jumping and playing on the surface. There must have been a hundred of them. They got up under our bow and played with us for about 30 minutes. Our guests loved it, took tons of pictures and will remember it for the rest of their lives. I know I sure will.
I will be going offshore again on Monday if the weather holds out, and will update you on what we caught and the water conditions. In the meantime, take care and be safe. Remember, a clean boat is a happy boat! |

3/9/2008 Well, today is the first day writing in my “Kym’s Korner” blog... Let me start out by first telling you about me. I guess you could figure out that my name is Kym, and I live in Beaufort, SC with my man SeaJay and my family. I have four girls: Amber 17, Kristina 16, and my twins Savannah and Caitlin 10. We have a Great Dane named Maggie Sue and a new Yorkie puppy named Scooter. We also have Arturo, who is our psycho Yellow Napped Amazon commonly referred to as “The Green Monster.” I work with SeaJay as a commercial diver cleaning boat hulls at the local marinas and private docks. The water is 55 degrees so lately I have been letting SeaJay do all the hard stuff while I do the ground support. I also first mate with Captain Wally on Sea Wolf Charters. I am a prior Marine. I got out in 1999 after 13 years as a gunnery sergeant. You may ask, “Why did you get out?” I had an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up so I took it. Now I am putting a package together to go back into the Marine Corps to finish up and retire. Anyway, keep checking back with my blog, I will update you on the family, weather, water conditions, and what we are catching offshore. If you need to get in touch with me, have a comment, or have some great news or information you would like me to post, you can reach me by clicking on my bio page. |
